Pulitzer Prize winner and two-time Pulitzer juror George Haj will join ALM on April 21 in the role of regional editor-in-chief for publications in Georgia, Florida and Texas, including the Daily Report.
Haj comes to ALM from the Houston Chronicle, where he is senior editor of local news. Since joining the Chronicle in 2003 as assistant managing editor for business, Haj directed coverage of the 2005 BP Texas City refinery accident and the Enron trials. Under his leadership, the Chronicle was a Pulitzer finalist for breaking news for using online newsroom expertise to “become a lifeline to the city” after Hurricane Ike, providing updates on the storm, its flood surge and aftermath.
