The Southern Center for Human Rights will honor E. Wycliffe “Wyc” Orr, a founding member of the Georgia Public Defender Standards Council, and Natasha Perdew Silas, a federal public defender, at the center’s “Justice Taking Root” benefit reception May 13 at the Carter Center.

Orr is slated to receive the center’s 2014 Lifetime Achievement Award for “his leadership in building and fortifying Georgia’s public defender system, and his courage in speaking up on behalf of those who cannot.”
