This letter regards “Same-sex couples sue to strike down Ga. marriage ban” (Daily Report, April 23, 2014).

In 2006, Congregation Bet Haverim gave its Torch of Freedom Award to Margaret Marshall, chief justice of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, for her part as author of the majority opinion in the court’s landmark decision on the right of same-sex couples to marry.
