Friday’s Georgia Supreme Court opinion that indigent parents aren’t always entitled to free lawyers in child support cases could open the door to future legal challenges, said an attorney for a group of jailed fathers.
Her clients had sought class action status in their claims that they were entitled to state-funded defense attorneys when fighting civil contempt rulings that led to their incarceration.
