Luke Lantta’s practice at Bryan Cave involves the tony world of trusts, inheritances and intrigue sometimes worthy of an “ABC Movie of the Week.” It’s a world far-removed from Lantta’s hometown of Ironwood, Mich., where proficiency in firearms and bow-hunting was required to pass the sixth grade.

“The Upper Peninsula is one of the least populated areas east of the Mississippi. And if you grow up in that area, you know what it means to work hard, appreciate what you have and put your head down and charge through,” he says. “It also teaches you the importance of community, the values of collaboration and the expectation that you should contribute to the well-being of those around you, particularly the most vulnerable.”
