The rapper T.I. and his production company are among several defendants who have settled a suit brought by the family of a man whose dead body appeared in an episode of an MTV program chronicling T.I.’s life as he waited to serve a one-year prison sentence on gun charges.

The nine-episode “T.I.’s Road to Redemption” featured the entertainer trying to persuade young people to avoid a life of crime. Along with T.I.—whose real name is Clifford Harris Jr.—and his Grand Hustle Productions, media giant Viacom and a New York-based production company settled the claims in late June. Viacom owns MTV.
