After winning a defense verdict at trial, then losing on appeal over its failure to disclose its insurance coverage, Ford Motor Co. has quietly settled a closely watched product liability lawsuit that was nearing a second trial date in Cobb County State Court.

Benjamin Baker Jr. of Beasley Allen in Montgomery, Ala., said his client, plaintiff Renee Conley, is pleased with the confidential resolution. The case, which had been set for an October trial, has been dismissed.
