An August fundraiser at family law firm Warner, Bates, McGough, McGinnis & Portnoy raised $15,950 to train volunteer guardians ad litem to represent children in contested child custody hearings in Fulton County Superior Court.

This is the third year that Warner Bates has hosted the fundraiser, which was attended this year by more than 100 people. The effort started in 2012, when the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation (AVLF), which trains and supervises the volunteers, lost a grant from Fulton County.
