Atlanta Hawks CEO Steve Koonin shed light on Alston & Bird’s internal investigation that culminated in majority owner Bruce Levenson’s resignation on Sunday in a radio interview on V-103 with Ryan Cameron, a DJ for the station who is also the Hawks’ game announcer.

The investigation, which was triggered by racist remarks repeated by the team’s general manager, Danny Ferry, about an African player, unearthed a racially charged email about the team’s fans that Levenson sent to Ferry and the team’s Washington co-owners two years ago.
