Four years after two men were shot as they sat in a Cadillac Escalade in the parking lot of Justin’s Restaurant, and more than two years after the downtown Atlanta nightspot was shuttered by its owner, Sean “P. Diddy” Combs, the restaurant has settled the second of two lawsuits stemming from the shootings.
According to court filings and contemporaneous news accounts, Baltimore-based club owner and rap producer Tony Austin, website designer Lawrence Jackson and a third man were sitting in the SUV at about 10 p.m. on Nov. 12, 2010 when an unidentified man opened a rear door and shouted, “You know what this is.” The third man, Don Wood, took off running, and Jackson was attempting to do, so when he and Austin were both shot multiple times.
