Rand Csehy, the former narcotics prosecutor turned criminal defense lawyer who has been indicted on drug charges, was released from jail early Tuesday morning after a five-day stay, according to Cobb County Sheriff’s Department inmate records and a spokeswoman for the district attorney.

At an hourlong bond hearing late Monday, Csehy told Cobb County Superior Court Judge A. Gregory Poole that he wanted to go home to spend the holidays with his 6-year-old son. Poole set bond at $25,000 and ordered weekly drug tests, according to the DA’s public information officer, Kim Isaza. Following processing, she said, Csehy was released at about 2 a.m. Tuesday.
