DeKalb County Superior Court Judge Tangela Barrie has taken over the role of chief judge for the Stone Mountain Judicial Circuit, replacing Superior Court Judge Gregory Adams, whose term ended last month.
Barrie, 41, joined the bench after winning an open election in 2008 to fill the seat vacated by Judge Anne Workman. In addition to her criminal and civil caseloads, Barrie also presides over the circuit’s drug court program.
