Lawyers preparing to defend civil rights leader and state Rep. Tyrone Brooks in a fraud trial set for April are fighting government plans to analyze Brooks’ cell phone usage for a jury.
A federal indictment alleges that for two decades the Atlanta Democrat cheated corporate donors, organizations and the Georgia Association of Black Elected Officials, which he co-founded, by siphoning money donated to his literacy charity and GABEO to his personal bank account.
