The parents of a toddler who suffered disfiguring injuries when a North Georgia drug task force officer tossed a stun grenade into the child’s playpen say officers lied to obtain the search warrant they were executing, according to a suit filed in U.S. District Court in Gainesville.
The civil rights suit was filed Feb. 3 by Bounkham Phonesavanh and Alecia Phonesavanh on behalf of their son, Bounkham “Bou Bou” Phonesavanh. It said officers obtained the “no-knock” search warrant by providing “false and purposely misleading information” to the county magistrate judge who issued it.
