A former member of DeKalb County’s Zoning Board of Appeals pleaded guilty to taking bribes in exchange for his vote, the acting U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Georgia announced Thursday.

Jeremy “Jerry” Clark, 42, of Lithonia, pleaded guilty to taking $3,500 in return for a 2012 vote to permit a Tucker business to operate as a nightclub in violation of county ordinances. Judge Leigh Martin May took the plea. The first $2,000 was in cash; the other $1,500 was donated by the business owner to what federal prosecutors described as “a nonprofit interest” in which Clark was involved.
