Federal prosecutors in Atlanta have charged a DeKalb County pool hall owner with bribing a member of the county Zoning Board of Appeals.

The criminal information, filed Tuesday in federal court in Atlanta, charges Ismail Sirdah with paying former zoning board member Jeremy “Jerry” Clark $2,000 in cash and donating about $1,500 to what prosecutors called a “nonprofit interest” with which Clark was involved. In return, Clark voted to approve Sirdah’s petition to operate as a nightclub, which county zoning ordinances previously had barred him from doing.
