The Georgia Supreme Court on Monday heard a case testing how far a law firm can go in criticizing potential litigation targets in an attempt to drum up legal business.
The case, filed by a nursing home company, stems from an advertisement that the Mississippi-based McHugh Fuller Law Group ran last April in The Toccoa Record. The law firm, which also has offices in West Virginia and handles litigation in Georgia, markets itself as focused on nursing home neglect cases.
