An Emory University employee has pleaded guilty to embezzling more than $300,000 by misdirecting student payments intended for Emory to her personal PayPal account, the acting U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Georgia announced Friday.
Brenda Michael, 53, of Atlanta waived indictment, choosing instead to plead guilty April 30 to a criminal information charging her with wire fraud, according to federal prosecutors and court records.
