The state’s judicial watchdog agency is looking for a new director, and the commission’s chairman acknowledges that hiring another retired judge after the resignation of the last director could be “complicated.”

The job notice for a new director for the Judicial Qualifications Commission—the state’s judicial disciplinary agency—lists a preference for “an active trial lawyer in both civil and criminal matters” with “strong administrative and interpersonal skills” who would be “capable of dealing professionally with the bench, bar, legislature, public and press.” The notice says the commission is looking for a member of the State Bar of Georgia with at least 10 years of experience. The deadline for applications is May 21.
