A federal judge has held the city of Atlanta in contempt and imposed sanctions for its failure to meet the terms of a three-year-old settlement with a woman who had been arrested by Atlanta police while she filmed them arresting her neighbor.

U.S. District Judge Steve Jones gave the city 45 days to revise police department procedures to strictly limit officers’ interference with citizens documenting police activities and to train every police officer in the revised procedures. Jones also threatened to fine the city $10,000 a day if it did not comply. Jones also directed the city to pay attorneys who sought the sanctions on behalf of Felicia Anderson $25,860 in fees and costs.
