A man who was denied permission to take the Georgia bar exam in 2008 because he had failed to disclose his criminal history has proved his rehabilitation, passed the exam and, last week, joined the State Bar of Georgia.

The Georgia Office of Bar Admissions denied Roy W. Yunker Jr. a certificate of fitness in 2008 based on his failure to disclose his convictions for DUI, disorderly conduct and family violence on his application to Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School. In February, the Georgia Supreme Court granted him permission to take the exam, which he took three weeks later.
