Of all major sports, Major League Baseball is often hesitant to outwardly embrace technology. That’s part of the charm of the sport. Although personnel decisions are primarily made using complex statistical analyses and medical decisions require cutting-edge medical technology, America’s Pastime walks a fine line between tradition and technological advancement.
Case in point: the NFL adopted its current system of instant replay in 1999. The NBA introduced instant replay during the 2002-2003 season. MLB adopted replay in 2008, and only in a primitive form at that point.
