Two Atlanta employment lawyers voiced opposing reactions to the U.S. Department of Labor’s proposed expansion of how many workers are entitled to overtime wages, one hailing it as much needed and the other decrying it as bad for businesses.
Regarding President Barack Obama’s Monday night announcement of a rule that would make nearly 5 million more workers eligible for time-and-a-half overtime pay, Steven Wolfe of Legare, Attwood & Wolfe, who represents plaintiffs in employment and discrimination cases, said the move was “long overdue.”
