A member of Georgia’s Immigration Enforcement Review Board is publicly opposing the nomination of DeKalb County State Court Judge Dax Lopez to the federal bench in Atlanta because of his leadership in a state association of Latino elected officials.

Board member Phil Kent called the Georgia Association of Latino Elected Officials (GALEO) “an illegal alien lobby group” that has taken stands on immigration policy that are “opposed by most Republicans in Georgia.”
