King & Spalding has recruited a four-partner team of health care lawyers from DLA Piper to expand its health care practice to California. The partners are Stephen Goff, who had co-chaired DLA Piper’s national health care practice, Marcia Augsburger, John Barnes and Leslie Murphy. The move was first reported by the Sacramento Business Journal.

King & Spalding gains a new location in Sacramento, where the team is based, but the co-chair of its life sciences and health care practice, Jon “Jay” Harris, said the firm has no plans to expand it beyond health care. The Atlanta-based firm has two California offices, in San Francisco and Silicon Valley. It will lease office space in Sacramento for the group, but the new location will be administered from the San Francisco office.
