A Cobb County judge scolded a special prosecutor who secured the indictment last week of a former DeKalb County judge only to ask for its dismissal in favor of a civil resolution, suggesting that the prosecutor’s actions were “pretty close” to criminal.

Before signing an order Monday dismissing the four-day-old indictment of retired DeKalb Superior Court Judge Cynthia Becker, Cobb Superior Court Judge Reuben Green questioned the tactics employed by Hart County District Attorney Parks White in securing Becker’s agreement not to seek a judgeship in the future.
