Gov. Nathan Deal on Thursday established a 12-member Appellate Jurisdiction Review Commission to examine how cases appealed to the state Supreme Court and a newly expanded Court of Appeals may be reallocated.

The members are: state Supreme Court Justices Keith Blackwell and David Nahmias; Appeals Court Chief Judge Sara Doyle and Judge Steve Dillard; state Senate Majority Leader Bill Cowsert; state House Majority Leader Jon Burns; Deal’s executive counsel Ryan Teague; Chuck Spahos, executive director of the state Prosecuting Attorneys Council; Bryan Tyson, executive director of the Georgia Public Defender Standards Council; State Bar of Georgia lobbyist Thomas Worthy; Alston & Bird partner Kyle Wallace and Atlanta attorney Darren Summerville.
