“There is a tradition of volunteerism that runs like a thread across this town … and it starts with the professional community,” Joe Bankoff said in the keynote speech for the Atlanta Bar Association’s annual Celebrating Service luncheon on Friday at the Piedmont Driving Club. Bankoff chairs Georgia Tech’s Sam Nunn School of International Affairs and is the former CEO of the Woodruff Arts Center, after a 32-year career at King & Spalding.

The event recognizes legal community members for their volunteerism through the Atlanta Bar, Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation and the Atlanta Legal Aid Society.
