DeKalb State Court Judge Dax Lopez has gained another supporter in his quest to become a federal court judge—the DeKalb County sheriff.
Sheriff Jeff Mann has sent letters to Georgia U.S. Sens. Johnny Isakson and David Perdue in which he gives his “wholehearted and enthusiastic support” to Lopez’s nomination to the federal bench in Atlanta and urges them to support Lopez’s confirmation. Mann, a Democrat who was elected sheriff in 2014, said in letters obtained by the Daily Report that Lopez “has a proven track record of fairness, efficiency and a fierce fidelity to the law.”
