Two years ago on a Spirit Airlines flight from Dallas to Atlanta, passengers were stunned by a loud explosion that rocked the aircraft.
One engine, enveloped in a fireball, shut down. The jet began shaking violently, and thick black smoke began filling the cabin, according to passenger accounts in lawsuits against Spirit filed in federal court in Atlanta.
