Four months after the White House nominated DeKalb County State Court Judge Dax Lopez to the federal bench in Atlanta, neither of Georgia’s two Republican senators have returned blue slips to the Senate Judiciary Committee signaling their support of Lopez’s confirmation, a committee staff member for U.S. Sen. Patrick Leahy has confirmed.
A spokeswoman for Sen. David Perdue said that Perdue has not returned his blue slip because he has yet to meet Lopez. Spokeswoman Caroline Vanvick did not say why Perdue has not yet met with Lopez or whether he intends to do so.
