At one time, U.S. Judge Marvin Shoob says, he intended to remain on the federal bench on Atlanta until he turned 100.
He says he loved the work, enjoyed dealing with people and embraced the physical rigors and intellectual acuity of being a trial judge. But he says the stamina required to preside over fractious and complicated cases is now for other judges far younger than him.
