A federal grand jury in Atlanta has charged two real estate investors with bid rigging and bank fraud in connection with real estate foreclosure auctions, the U.S. Justice Department announced on Wednesday.
The grand jury charged Douglas L. Purdy with one count of bid rigging and five counts of bank fraud in connection with foreclosure auctions at the Forsyth County Courthouse from 2008 to 2012. It charged Clifford Wayne Hill with bid rigging and seven counts of bank fraud in connection with foreclosure auctions in Gwinnett County from 2008 to 2012.
