Joel M. Feldman, a United States magistrate judge from 1974 until his retirement in 2006, died on Feb. 27.
I met Joel in 1978 when I joined the United States Attorney’s Office and appeared before him regularly as a prosecutor. I had the pleasure of serving alongside Joel as a U.S. magistrate judge from 1995 until his retirement. Joel handled pre-trial matters in some of the most important criminal cases of his day.
