A Georgia lawsuit has alleged that the social media site Snapchat contains a dangerous feature that encourages posting while speeding in a vehicle.

The application in question, “speed filter,” allows users to take a selfie photo and overlay into it their speed at the time, according to a complaint filed in Spalding County State Court on April 20. The complaint said Snapchat’s mobile software was the critical cause of a September 2015 crash on Tara Boulevard in Clayton County that severely injured Wentworth Maynard. He and his wife, Karen Maynard, filed the lawsuit.
