Point Clear, Alabama—Under Bright Sunshine and tight security, federal judges from Georgia, Florida and Alabama have gathered beside Mobile Bay for a conference with lawyers who practice before them to discuss ways to improve the business of justice.

Attendees include 160 judges from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the U.S. District Courts in all three states, plus 300 practicing attorneys, according to Eleventh Circuit Chief Judge Ed Carnes. Along with another 200 spouses and partners, the total guest list has run to about 660.
