A racketeering suit by a former federal prosecutor against international gun mogul Gaston Glock, two of Glock’s Georgia companies and three of Glock’s attorneys has cleared a key hurdle.

Judge Jane Morrison of Fulton County State Court rejected a bid by the defendants that she dismiss the suit. She also denied their request to move the case to Cobb County, where Glock’s North American headquarters is located. In doing so, Morrison noted that plaintiff James Harper III had claimed in court papers that Glock and two of his Georgia companies—Glock Inc. and Consultinvest Inc.—”have considerable influence with law enforcement personnel and the Cobb County district attorney’s office.”
