As a plaintiffs lawyer and mediator of employment claims, I have the opportunity on a daily basis to hear the complaints and problems that employees have with their employers.
After years in practice, I have learned that of all the callers to our firm with employment complaints, 95 percent of those calls have no cognizable legal claims. Yet, there is a common theme to every person who calls looking for a lawyer: the employee feels he or she was treated unfairly. Employees do not call an employment lawyer unless they feel wronged—even if they know their rights have been violated.
