Trial lawyer Tommy Malone took the stage to a standing ovation in a packed ballroom Thursday evening at the Daily Report’s Professional Excellence awards event and bluntly delivered the news that he is dying.
Malone’s speech [see video below] led the program because his family was worried he might not be able to stay through the evening. He started by saying he wasn’t sure he could get through his talk without being interrupted by spasms that have come with the terminal stomach cancer his doctors diagnosed a few months ago.
