For much of Floor & Décor General Counsel David Christopherson’s career, each professional step has been a lucky accident, preparing him for his next challenge, even before he knew what that challenge would be.

After graduating from Harvard Law School in 1999, Christopherson spent 4½ years in New York at Sullivan & Cromwell. He describes his work there as a broad corporate practice, which he says is unusual, “especially for New York experience.” Later, he says, the experience helped in his in-house career, because he was not pigeonholed into a subpractice area.
