Fisher & Phillips is opening a New York office with a five-lawyer team recruited from Ogletree Deakins Nash Smoak & Stewart.

“This is a big deal for us,” said Roger Quillen, the chairman of the Atlanta-based labor and employment firm. Labor and employment firms did not use to feel the need to have a New York office, but Quillen said that has changed with the globalization of law. As Fisher & Phillips has grown nationally, its clients and potential clients have become more national and international.
