Fifteen names were added Wednesday to the nominations pouring in for the two new seats on the Georgia Supreme Court that Gov. Nathan Deal plans to fill later this year.
The state’s Judicial Nominating Commission has set a deadline of Aug. 8 to receive nominations for the new positions created by the General Assembly in 2016. In addition, the commission soon will begin taking applications to replace Chief Justice Hugh Thompson, who has announced his plans to retire in January.
