A suburban Atlanta Baptist church has agreed to pay $25,000 to a church school kindergarten teacher to settle a sexual harassment lawsuit involving the church’s former pastor.

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission announced the settlement Wednesday of a suit it filed last year against King’s Way Baptist Church and King’s Way Christian School on behalf of Marsha Pearson, who was fired after she complained that church pastor William Wininger Sr. had sexually harassed and groped her, then threatened her if she reported him.
