Affected test takers and law school deans alike are still absorbing the news that 90 people who took the Georgia bar exam in July 2015 and last February were told they failed but actually passed, because of a glitch in scoring.

One of them, AJ Lakraj, who graduated from Emory University Law School last year, thought he failed the July 2015 exam. He retook it in February and passed. When he found out Tuesday that he’d actually passed on his first try, the shock caused a physical reaction, he said. “I had tingles. … I was so upset—because of all the grief and hardship I’d gone through.”
