The DeKalb County district attorney has dropped theft charges against a woman accused of looting several safety-deposit boxes at a Decatur credit union, but she still faces civil suits accusing her of stealing more than a half-million dollars in gold, jewels and cash.
According to lawyers and filings in the civil and criminal cases, Khatija Dholakia, 29, was the chief loan officer at the Decatur branch of the Platinum Federal Credit Union when the thefts occurred. The credit union has five branches in Georgia, Florida and Alabama,
