Call them Georgia’s Odd Couple of politics.

Cartersville attorney Lester Tate, a North Georgia lawyer who calls himself “a notorious Democrat,” has teamed up with Columbus attorney Josh McKoon, a state senator from below “the gnat line” and an avowed Republican, to barnstorm the state this week in a shoestring campaign to defeat Constitutional Amendment 3. But, said Tate, “There is nothing partisan about this issue.”
