This summer, it would have been easy to mistake W. Thomas Worthy for a bar exam-taker. The babyfaced 33 year old spent long hours at his desk, poring over treatises and boning up on legal and business issues.
But Worthy wasn’t launching his legal career—far from it. After a successful stint as head lobbyist for the Georgia State Bar, he was preparing for the next chapter of his young, impressive career: vice president of government and external affairs at Piedmont Healthcare, the not-for-profit, health system that operates seven hospitals across the state.
