Opinions on President-elect Donald Trump’s selection of U.S. Sen. Jeff Sessions to be attorney general engendered intense reactions Friday, with supporters and former colleagues of the Alabama Republican confident but some public interest lawyers framing the selection as highly problematic and likely to touch off a confirmation battle.
U.S. Sen. David Perdue, R-Georgia, called Sessions “a natural fit to lead our nation’s Justice Department.”
