NCR Corp. has come a long way since it was founded in 1884 as the National Cash Register Co. Next year, the technology company will take another leap forward, moving its corporate headquarters from Duluth to a state-of-the-art campus in Midtown near the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Perhaps best known as a leading maker of machines used for electronic transactions, such as ATMs and self-service kiosks, NCR now touts itself as a software-driven company and major player in the so-called “omnichannel environment”—online, in-store and mobile commerce merged into one seamless shopping experience.
