Piedmont Hospital Inc. has secured the certificate of need from the state of Georgia that it requires for the $603 million expansion of its Atlanta campus with a 16-story tower next door, assisted by Morris Manning & Martin partner Bob Threlkeld.

Morris Manning associate Elliott Coward and Davis Dunbar of Davis Dunbar Consulting worked with Threlkeld in winning approval Dec. 12 from the Georgia Department of Community Health for Piedmont to expand and modernize its flagship Atlanta location. Piedmont Atlanta is the largest of the seven hospitals that Piedmont Hospital owns in metro Atlanta area, Jasper and Athens.
